Ink Pump Models
The most common applications for ink pumping systems draw from drums, totes & stationary tanks. Sizes range from 5 gallon buckets and smaller containers all the way up to 1,500 gallon and larger stationary tanks. Each source of supply requires specialty equipment to effect the pump connection to the source of supply. Liquid inks can draw from drums or tanks and the most common pump for this application is a diaphragm pump with a suction line hook up. Drum systems require either drum cover/follower plate assembly for lighter viscosity inks, and a hoist or a pressure primer to raise and lower the pump to assist the pump in maintaining prime for heavier viscosity inks such as sheetfed. Web offset applications normally draw from a tote tank, although there are smaller systems available should the application require it. Sheetfed systems are almost always drawn from 55 gallon (200 Lt) drums although we do offer systems for smaller drums and containers. Air Flo Spray Equipment represents four major manufacturers of material dispensing equipment and can offer this unparalelled choice to our valued customers who have an equipment brand preference.
Paste inks: Sheetfed Versus Heat Set
A package designed for the offset printing professional must be functional as well cost effective and simple in its design and application. Air Flo has designed several integrated turn key packages to meet the demands of this competitive marketplace.
Sheetfed and web offset applications differ in many aspects. In most larger applications, sheetfed ink is delivered in 55 gallon (200 liter) drums, or smaller containers . Web offset inks can be delivered in the same sized containers, but can also be delivered in containers as large as 379 gallons (1,435 liter) or even 1,500 gallons (5,678 liters) or more! This poses special handling concerns for delivering these types of ink to the press. Air Flo has addressed these issues by making available many different mounting devices and options which allows for an almost unlimited versatility in installations.
Yamada Corporation of Tokyo Japan has developed the industries’ first piston pump designed specifically to transfer offset paste inks. Designed from scratch these pumps provide solutions to the issues which have plagued other manufacturers attempts to effectively transfer ink; Icing air valves, leaking gland seals, messy & difficult drum changeover and loud operational noise.
Air Flo Spray Equipment recommends the Yamada InkPRO® pump for offset printing ink transfer requirements
The InkPRO® offset printing ink pump by Yamada.
Now entering its seventh year in the US domestic marketplace the InkPRO® has developed a great following amongst the largest and most demanding printers in the world. The pump has performed well beyond the expectations of even the most critical of users and continues to impress with the simplicity of the design and the reliability, performance and value that the pump offers.
RR Donnelley, Quad/Graphics, Cenveo, Inc., Vertis, Inc, Arandell Corporation, Continental Web Press, Sun Chemical, Flint Ink, INX International, Central Ink, Superior Ink, Toyo Ink, Ink Systems, Hostmann-Steinberg Ink and many smaller regional ink producers and printing establishments all agree;
The InkPRO® by Yamada is a superior piece of equipment for an excellent price and is backed by the best warranty in the industry.

Yamada has yielded an accurate, well-engineered ink pump in an easy-to-use, low-maintenance design.
The InkPRO® Ink Pump Pump Technology Specifically Designed For Printing Inks–
Yamada Corporation, a pioneer in pumping products for 100 years, developed the InkPRO® exclusively for the transfer of high viscosity printing inks. Other manufacturer’s products are designed for grease or spray applications and sell modified versions for pumping ink.
Outside Accessible Air Valve –Yamada has developed the latest in air valve technology to insure that your pump runs longer and requires less maintenance than leading competitive brands. If air valve inspection is necessary, there is no need to remove the pump from service - remove two bolts, access your air valve and minimize your down time.
Unique Inductor Plate –The transformable sealing system (U.S. patent no. 6,422,430) is designed to allow for very easy and clean drum changes.
Oil Container–The visible plastic oil container protects against ink leakage (see through container), maintains a lubricated plunger, and extends gasket life. Lubrication maintenance is minimal.
Low-Level Sensor–Easily adjustable pneumatic low-level sensor prevents pump dry running.
Anti-Freezing Design–The high efficiency air valve is designed to reduce air consumption and cycling speed is optimized to eliminate freezing.
Metering–Precision, high quality construction insures accurate metering.
Less Noise –Quiet operation (less than 70dB within 3 feet) vs. competitive models.
The professionals choice.
